Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 2025

Wurk, Inc. (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the wurk platform (“Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information in the following ways:

  • Account information — name, email address, and password when you register.
  • Billing information — payment method details processed by Stripe. We do not store card numbers directly; Stripe handles payment data under their own privacy policy.
  • Usage data — build requests, project descriptions, credit consumption, and feature interactions, used to operate and improve the Service.
  • Technical data — IP address, browser type, device identifiers, and log data collected automatically when you use the Service.
  • Communications — messages you send us via email or in-app support.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

  • Create and manage your account
  • Process payments and manage credits
  • Deliver, operate, and improve the Service
  • Send transactional emails (receipts, build status, security alerts)
  • Respond to support requests
  • Detect and prevent fraud and abuse
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your project content to train AI models.

3. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to authenticate your session, remember your preferences, and understand how the Service is used. Cookies are small text files stored on your device.

We use the following types of cookies:

  • Essential cookies — required for authentication and core Service functionality. The Service cannot function without these.
  • Analytics cookies — help us understand aggregate usage patterns so we can improve the Service. These can be disabled without affecting core functionality.

You can control cookie settings in your browser. Disabling essential cookies will prevent you from logging in.

4. Third-Party Services

We share data with third-party providers only as necessary to operate the Service:

  • Stripe — processes payments and stores payment method data. Governed by the Stripe Privacy Policy.
  • Authentication providers — if you sign in with a third-party provider (e.g., Google), that provider shares your name and email address with us per their own privacy policy.
  • Infrastructure providers — hosting, database, and storage providers that process data on our behalf under data processing agreements.

We do not share your personal information with advertisers or data brokers.

5. Data Storage and Retention

Your data is stored on servers in the United States. We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 90 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., billing records).

Build outputs and project files are retained for 12 months after the associated build completes, after which they are automatically deleted.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction — request that we correct inaccurate information.
  • Deletion — request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal retention requirements.
  • Portability — request your data in a portable format.
  • Objection — object to processing of your data in certain circumstances.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@wurk.dev.

7. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews. No system is perfectly secure — if you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.

8. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with their information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date and, for material changes, notify you by email or through the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.

10. Contact

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, please contact us at privacy@wurk.dev.
