FAQ

Common questions

Everything you need to know about using Wurk — pricing, ownership, builds, and what happens after.

Getting started

What is Wurk?

Wurk is a platform where you describe the software you need in plain language, and we build it for you. You review a plan, approve the scope and price, and get production software you own — deployed and ready to use.

Do I need technical knowledge?

No. The entire process is conversational. You describe what you want in your own words — Wurk handles the technical decisions. If you have screenshots of tools you like or rough sketches, you can share those too.

What can Wurk build?

Wurk builds web applications — client portals, internal tools, SaaS products, dashboards, booking systems, marketplaces, and similar. If your idea involves user accounts, data, workflows, and pages, Wurk can probably build it. If you're unsure, start a conversation — the first draft is free.

How long does a build take?

Most builds complete in 15 to 30 minutes. Complex projects with many features may take longer. You can watch progress in real time as each feature is built and checked.

Pricing and credits

How does pricing work?

Wurk uses a credit system. Each feature in your plan has a credit cost. You see the total before you approve — that's the maximum you'll pay. If the build uses fewer credits than estimated, the difference is refunded automatically.

Is the first draft really free?

Yes. You can describe your idea, have a full conversation with Wurk, and see the plan with mockups and a price estimate — all without spending credits. You only pay when you approve a build.

What if the build uses fewer credits than estimated?

Unused credits are returned to your balance automatically. The estimate is a cap, not a fixed charge.

Do credits expire?

Credits expire 12 months from the date of purchase.

Can I get a refund?

If a build fails and can't be completed, your credits are fully refunded. For other refund requests, contact us at support@wurk.dev.

Ownership and code

Do I own the code?

Yes, completely. Everything generated for your project belongs to you. We claim no intellectual property rights over your output. You can download the full source code as a zip file at any time.

What technology does the generated software use?

Wurk generates apps using Next.js, PostgreSQL, Prisma, shadcn/ui, and Auth.js — a modern, well-supported stack. Your app is deployed to its own managed container with its own database.

Can I host the app myself?

Yes. Download your project as a zip, and you can run it anywhere that supports Node.js and PostgreSQL. The exported app is a standard Next.js project with no proprietary dependencies.

Can I connect my own domain?

Yes. In your project settings, you can add a custom domain and follow the steps to verify DNS. Your app will be accessible at your own domain once verified.

After the build

Can I make changes after the app is built?

Yes. Start a new conversation describing the changes you want. Wurk reads your project's full history, so it understands what already exists. You'll see a credit estimate for the changes before approving.

Will changes break existing features?

Every change is verified against your existing app. Wurk checks that new features work and that existing features still pass their checks before deploying an update.

What happens if a build fails?

If a build can't be completed, your credits are fully refunded and your project returns to its previous state. You can review what went wrong and retry, or refine the plan and try again.

Security and data

Is my data secure?

Yes. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Payments are processed by Stripe — we never see your card details. Your project data is stored securely and only accessible to you.

Do you use my project to train AI models?

No. We do not use your project content, conversations, or generated code to train AI models. Your data is used solely to deliver the service to you.

Can I delete my account and data?

Yes. You can delete your account from your settings page. All personal data is deleted or anonymized within 90 days, except where we're legally required to retain records (like billing history).
